No Bake Energy Bars with Black Seeds

I saw a recipe for no bake energy bars on Dr. Oz and a bling went off in my head.  I thought we could spice these up a bit more and make then full of energy.  

As a recipe writer I am always thinking of how to add more pizazz to a recipe and this one is definitely calling for more pizazz.

No Bake Energy Bars


  • 2 cup quick-cook oats
  • 2/3 cup dried tart cherries
  • 1 cup all-natural peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup of raw honey
  • 1 tablespoon of dried coconut
  • 1 tablespoon ground black seeds (must be heated prior)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla 


Mix the ingredients together in a bowl. Spray a  dish with non-stick spray and then press the mixture firm in place.  Place the dish in the refrigerator for at least two hours before cutting.
